Fixing pull-up bar in to lightweight / aerated blockwork?

Post by TheBurnsy79 » Thu Apr 09, 2020 11:04 am

Guys,

New to the forum.

I’ve set my garage up as a gym and fitted a pull-up bar to the inside aerated blockwork with Rawl Plug Safety anchors. They worked their way out eventually, surprised they lasted so long TBF. I then used resin and M8 threaded bar. The resin was great but the block started to break up when I tightened the nut.

I was wondering if any of you had experience of a fixing that you slide all the way through the 100mm block and opens up behind? I have contacts in Rawl Plug and Ejot etc, but not sure they have anything.

Any other suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks,

David

Hi theburnsey79,
You need to make your holes for the studding deeper and larger probably using 80mm studding. Clean the holes out carefully and mount your bar up the other way so the longest flange is at the top.
