I’m hoping there’s someone on here that could help as it is driving us mad.
We moved to a new property and after a few months a sewer odour came about. Got a plumber out to investigate and he also had no idea. All internal plumbing is working ok, no backup etc. Tried using smoke bombs but there appeared to be no leaks and the smoke was coming out the toilet vent stack.
The smell seems to be coming from the manhole in the private enclosed yard to the rear of the property. When inspected, everything again seems to be flowing fine out into the mains.
The smell also appears to be coming from the upstairs hot press (located next to the upstairs toilet) but the majority of it seems to be coming from private man hole.
All ubends have water, can’t understand how the smell is backtracking internally.
Would really appreciate if someone could steer us in a direction. Many thanks Gerard
