Gas Pipe Terminal Outlet Safety Cover

by BigwigNUFC » Thu Mar 20, 2008 8:00 pm

Hi....

I am looking to buy a sturdy, safety cover for an exterior wall to cover the 6" length of gas flue pipe, which comes through. I currently have a cover made from wire-mesh, but it is always getting bashed by the kids and damaged.

Can you advise me, please?

Geordie Paul....DIY Numpty who relies on the wife for gardening, repairs and decorating....though I am disabled after breaking my spine, playing rugby, so it's not entirely down to idleness!

Any gas trade centre or diy shop will sell flue terminal guards.

As for the sturdiness of these guards - if the kids want to damage it - they will.

I would buy cheaper one's then it wont hit you as hard in the pocket and you wont mind replacing yearly or whenever it is damaged.

PAUL,

I'AM SURE THAT YOUR LOCAL ARCHITECTURAL GATE AND RAILING MANUFACTURER (WROUGHT IRONWORKER) COULD MAKE A MORE ROBUST VERSION OF THE TERMINAL GUARD AND IT SHOULDN'T BRAKE THE BANK.

THERE ARE LOADS IN THE YELLOW PAGES FOR THE TOON
(WALKER, THROCKLEY AND NEWBURN ETC. ETC.)

THAT I'L STOP THE LITTLE WASTERS.

GUD LUCK AND GUD HEALTH FOR THE FUTURE.

ALDA.
