Hall light - what goes where ? Ask questions and find answers to many subjects relating to electrics and electrical work

I have just purchased a new hall light.

In the hall wall I have 4 connections :-

1. A connection with two wires (both red)
2. A connection with two wires (both black)
3. A connection with two wires (one red, one black)
4. A connection with green & yellow wire

On the light fitting I have

5. A green & yellow wire
6. A blue wire
7. A brown wire

Obviously, 5 goes to 4 but what about the others ?

Help appreciated.

7. to 3. (Switch return wire)
6. to 2. (Neutral)
1. is left as it is it feeds the switch. (Loop)
