My 15 year old hardwood cills were treated with Sikkens HLS and have many coats of Sikkens THB added over the years. Some areas, mainly in full sun, are now starting to peel. These areas will scrape back to bare wood but others are very difficult to do so. Can you please advise me how best to treat these small but unsightly areas bearing in mind that Sikkens is expensive and seems to be sold only in over large tins for my needs. Should I consider trying to strip to bare wood and using another product?
