Have I Bust my Towel Rail?

by edargyle07 » Tue Jun 04, 2019 10:09 pm

First time installing a towel rail and all good until I noticed a leak on the radiator tail. It's a straight line valve and theres no real space between the valve and the tail nut so had to take the valve off to tighten the tail.

Thing is the tail just spins... have I cross threaded it? I cant get it to do up or undo. In hindsight I think I under did the ptfe, over tightened and cross threaded... does this sound right?

What's my solution??? Is it caput?! Or is there something i can do?

Best thing is to remove the tail, and try a new one with ptfe and paste. You may be lucky and damaged the tail thread rather than the towel rail.
