Hepworth Hygienic Self-Sealing Waste Valve

Postby David Brown » Wed Sep 09, 2009 1:20 pm

Can anyone advise if these are a suitable alternative to a traditional trap when used on a bath? I'm a bit concerned that the membrane could get blocked (and therefore forced slightly open) by hair etc thus allowing the ingress of foul air from the soil pipe. Also, does anyone know if this type of design would need more frequent clearing than a traditional P or S trap? Thanks, David.

Having posted to the your other post, I have just now read this. So it is a CV1 you have. I wonder why??

Is the soil stack vented to open air? The CV1 is not a bath trap and wouldn't be used in place of one.
