hot watertemp. with combis

Post by kevarch » Mon Oct 27, 2008 11:23 am

hi
i have recently had a Glow worm combi fitted. I have the water set to a fairly modest temperature (you can put your hand under it) but when the heating is on the hot water comes through seriously hot. Is this normal and if not does any one have suggestions what is happening?
Many thanks.

Yeah it is normal for the water to be hotter at firwst but should cool down a little after the tap has been running for abit.

The hot water is not heated by the flames, it is heated by the heat from the water in the CH being transferred to the water running through the plate heat-exchanger. Obviously if the heating is on the CH water will already be hot and the first 30-60 of hot water may be very hot.

Hope this makes sense.
