first you need to turn off the electric.
unscrew the face plate on the socket, and carefully pull it away from the plaster.
Wrap the socket in a plastic bag and tape it. This will stop any moisture tripping the circuit.
Chip away all the loose plaster around the area and with a paint brush apply a P.V.A solution on the area,
Mix with water, some Carlite bonding and apply it on the area, it does not matter if you put too much on, just enough above the finished surface.
When its set, about 12 hours later, scrape it back with a flat trowel, just below the finished plaster surface, about 3mm deep is enough.
Then apply a finish plaster, thistle multi coat, and trowel it flat, it will set slowly, so keep wetting it with a brush, as it gets harder the trowel marks will level out, just take your time and keep trowelling and wet brushing the area lightly until your happy with the finish
