How Would You Repair Hole in Wooden Ceiling Panel?

Hi Guys

How would you repair the hole in the wooden ceiling panel shown below? I might have access from the loft above but haven't checked. Thanks.

determined,
Cut a rectangular hole in the board, screw a rectangle of 12mm+ plywood above the hole, insert and fix a blank in the hole. Stain new piece of wood to suit.
