Humidistat fan

by SamRTelectrical » Tue Nov 22, 2011 8:33 pm

ive recently fitted a Humidistat xpelair fan in a kitchen, im having real issues getting it set right, its not an overly damp or humid kitchen, but they got recommended to to fit one by someone who deals with damp issues!? Anyway ive set it up to run in the automatic mode, but it just stays on, i spoke to the manufacturers and they said give it at least 2 days which i did, after those 2 days it did go off a few times but only when they cooked?! obviously the client is pretty fed up ive tried contacting a local technician xpelair recommended but i havnt heard back, Anyone have any clue about how i should set the RH dial and how long i should actually leave it for?

SamRTelectrical,
You'll need to set the dial to around 80% RH even then its likely to run continuously especially in a kitchen. The dial setting is an indicator so it's probably best to measure the humidity and set the fan so it operates at the desired RH.
end
