Hi,

I have an electricsaver box on my wall beside the hot water tank and i can start and cancel it to boost the water so that it heats up quickly. This is the only way i can heat the water up.

Cheers

assuming that ordinarily your hot water system runs from a boiler? you don't say in your post.

if it does run from a boiler and your rads are still working ok then it could well be the diverter valve - though there are many other possible causes.

if electric only (immersion) then most likely the element has gone.

either way you really need to call in a plumber to take a look.
