Hi, Have discovered my water is overheating so have diconnected from supply. I have immersion type tank, connected to economy 7 but with no CH. I removed the stat from the element but can't find a similar one anywhere(dunlaw element, sunvic stat measured in fahrenheit so must be very old). The element is not the usual round fitting that screws into the tank, so i can't even replace that. Question is can i re-route the wiring to a cylinder stat of the type that sits on the outside of the hot water tank?
