Insulating a Solid Craft Cast Concrete House

by al9955 » Sun Nov 25, 2018 12:46 pm

Hi there

looking at purchasing a property that was built in the mid 1940's, it was built from a solid concrete mould (craft cast) currently the house seems to have no form of insulation (needs complete renovation) but I cant find any info regarding the best way to suitably insulate it.

I had considered insulating it internally, thinking of battening the walls (50mm?) but not sure if insulating in-between the battens or insulation on top of the battens to allow air circulation, also has mentions of painting the walls with some sort of damp membrane?

any info would be greatly appreciated.
