Jewson Insists Cracks are Normal in Engineering Bricks?

Post by largehosier » Sun Jul 26, 2015 12:36 pm

I purchased 400 class b engineering bricks from Jewson Junction st Carlisle.

These are to replace spalled bricks in our house and garage.

I have complained to Jewson about the cracks in the bricks, however the manager insists the bricks should be like this and we don't know what we are talking about by complaining.

Please see attached photos and advise.

[no this is not a joke or wind up] We have got a refund following a threat of legal action, however I really would like others opinions, I am just a diy'er and these are the first bricks I have purchased.

yes it is normal, the bricks are clay, and in the kiln they can crack, some are worse than others, I just reject the ones that are too bad
