kitchen mixer tap - cold water at just a drizzle

by vh99 » Tue Jul 13, 2010 11:50 pm

hi there,

complete novice needing some help.

Our mixer tap in the kitchen is not playing the game !! The hot water is flowing fine but the cold water comes out at a dribble, I have tried putting hand over the tap when running (got very wet ) and for a second or two this did the trick, howeverm as soon as I turned the tap off and then on again the problem returned with barely a trickle coming out.
The cold tap is also taking more turns than previously to get even the tricke.

As I say complete novice here so really would appreciate some assitance.

many thanks

vince

Sounds like the tap is faulty - the tap handle may be turning on the spindle, or the washer may be stuck - you need to strip the tap down.
