Looking for some advice, I live in rented accommodation and my living room has wooden laminate flooring, I want to put a carpet down but I am not allowed to uplift the laminate. Is it possible to carpet on top of laminate? I don't want to damage the laminate by nailing in grippers, would it be possible to use a strong double sided tape to stick down the grippers, and what underlay would be best.
If anyone has done this then your advice would be appreciated.
I would suggest speaking to a local shop and ask them if they would cut the carpet to the size of the room, bind or overwhip the edges and perhaps lay this on an underlay in a similar way that a rug may be installed, but obviously covering the area of the room.
This would leave the flooring underneath unharmed.
