Lean-to roof felting and flashing questions

Post by Urdave » Mon Nov 12, 2007 11:07 am

I'm building a lean-to up against a house and plan to use a sloped roof butting up against a brick wall. It's basicaly a shed so i was wondering if it is still necessary to use lead flashing or will self adhesive tape flashing be adequate, also im assuming this does not have to be chased into a mortar joint.

Also is it necessary to use several layers of felt or will just a layer of shed felt be ok (how long does this stuff last?)

The roof area will be about 12msq with a decent pitch.

Thanks

put a f1 tak down then burn a mineral finish onto the tak down, if you use flashband heat it up first and it sticks well. I would use lead though but i am a leadworker so slightly biased
