light problem

by mrchips » Tue Oct 09, 2007 9:20 pm

Hi

Have a light in the loft which when swicthed on puts the main bedroom light on if the main bedroom light is swicthed of and doesnt work if the main bedroom light is swicthed on.

I have checked the cables at the bedroom ceiling rose there are 3 twin and earths. one goes to the bedroom dimmer switch and is connected to the loop and the live. Another cable goes on the next light this is connected neutral to neutral and live to loop. The 3rd twin and earth goes to the light in the rose and is connected neutral to neutral and live to loop a twin and earth goes from the loft light to a switch and that conected loop at loft light to common of swicth and L1 of swicth to live of loft rose.

Any ideas as to why the bedroom light is coming on?

Hi, probably loft light is connected to bedroom lights sw cable rather than to its feed, if done at rose then should be in loop in term not sw. line term.
