light switches after plastering but nothing to screw to

by cbu2006 » Sun Oct 25, 2020 8:23 am

I had a rewire done and then I had the walls replastered. Now I've come to screw the light switches back in I've realised that the screws would be fitting into fresh air. I don't know whether it's the fault of the electrician or the plasterer but there is no plaster to screw into. Is there another way of fitting the switches onto the wall short of glueing them on?

In general light switches are secured to metal back boxes when flush mounted or "plastic" boxes when surface mounted.
Perhaps the electrician has not finished?
