Please help. My wife tried to switch on the cloakroom light and she heard what seemed like a bulb blowing , all the downstairs lights not working but upstairs ok.Main fuse to lights all ok and not blown, upstairs and downstairs use same fuse, have tried new light switch and have remove the light in the toilet but still I am getting no lights for the downstairs can any body help. The cloakroom light was a heating lamp. but this has been removed and all fuses have been looked at. Will say I have old consumer unit with wire fuses. Please Help

Check all the fuses carefully - the fuse wire has probably burned through where you cannot see it, pull on the wire from one end.
