Manrose extractor fan in loft problem

by AlanGibbo » Wed Jan 27, 2021 9:18 am

Hi
I have a Manrose extractor fan in the loft running through a separate run on timer. Recently when I turn the light on the fan buzzes but does not seem to start or run properly, but when I turn off the light (and the run on timer takes over) it starts fully and runs fine until the timer turns it off.
Its been there for a few years working fine and nothing has changed, just started doing this recently. I've cleaned the inside of the fan. Any ideas ? Thanks

It sounds like the timer is starting to fail. (They often do)
You have two choices.

1) By pass the timer.
2) Buy a new fan.

For reference.
A replacement timer is around £12
A replacement fan with timer is £17
