Hi there. The connector block in my shower has melted (smoking and wires also melted) on the neutral side, i have had the shower approx 6 months and had no problems until now. there doesnt appear any evidence of water getting in to the unit and no bare wires touching. anyone any ideas as to what it could be and should i just replace the connector block?
terminal not fully tightened, should be retightened after a few uses of shower as often found to become loose and will then arc,
most burnouts start with loose connections,

so if i replace the connector block with a new one and make sure all the connections are tightened will this be ok to use or do i need to get an electrician out.
probably thats all leckie would do, but if one is loose what about the others ie in local isolator switch and at consumer unit?
An electric shower is the highest single load in most homes, worth getting it checked I would say,
