Need For Retrospective Planning Permission Or Building Regualtions

by bullyhole1 » Fri Oct 04, 2013 9:50 am

In 2006/7 I spoke to the planning officer concerning need for planning and was told a garage was a permitted development. I have since discovered that the garage I built exceeded the size for permitted development i.e
30m2 by about 8m2. As the building has stood for over six years do I need to apply for retrospective planning or has it attained legal status as it has been in place for more than 5 years?
