I have just took on a mortgage for a 1920 mid terraced property. The survey report showed evidence of damp downstairs.
However when I got the keys to the property yesterday, and in the absence of the previous owners furniture the damp from the skirting boards up on 3 internal walls in different rooms downstairs was evident.
The skirting boards are wet and crumbling and it’s smells of damp. The floors are concrete beneath the carpets .
Could really use some advise please.
