Noisy glow worm back boiler!

Post by karen s » Thu Nov 06, 2008 3:34 pm

Hi. We've been having a problem with our glow worm fireblaze backboiler for the past few days. everything seems to be working as normal, i.e hot water and radiators, but getting odd spits of black soot. also, when system comes on, after about ten minutes or so, it gets noisy. the noise is as though something is drawing it and in the end we have to turn the heating system off because the noise is so annoying! to be honest, it is ready for a service (not been done for about 15months). It just so happens we've been looking at getting a new heating system installed, getting rid of the back boiler, but weren't planning anything till after christmas. Can anyone help? thanks.

Get the service carried out ASAP by a RGI. Soot from a gas appliance can be a sign of incomplete combustion - get it checked, to protect your family from Carbon Monoxide.
