Outside light, switched PIR

by Danc » Tue Jan 08, 2008 6:10 pm

Hi, Hope someone can help - i have an outside light which is PIR operated only. I want to get rif o this light and install 2 new lights which can be switched on when i want and PIR activated the rest of the time. Adding the replacement and additional light and switch alone is no problem but i am confused about the wiring layout adding a PIR which can be overriden by the switch.

If that makes sense can anyone offer any advice?

Many thanks,

Hi Danc, without layout difficult to say how to do cabling physically but all you need electrically is a switch between perm. Live to PIR & its switched outgoing core to light, ie a twin brown from PIR to a sw.
don't forget if doing any wiring outside house it's covered by Part-P,
