Painting a Tiled Hearth Beneath a Multifuel Stove

Post by Ihave3kids » Sun Sep 22, 2019 11:11 am

Hi, we have had a tiled hearth fitted and are awaiting the multifuel stove (5kw), to be delivered and fitted - about 2 weeks time.
The issue is that I don’t like the pattern of the tiled hearth and have made a major mistake in my choice.
We are considering painting over the tiles and then stencilling over the top.
Question is, what paint do we use for heat resistance? The tiled hearth is only beneath the stove and not behind it.
Our other concern is that the fitter won’t install the stove if we cannot show him the paint we’ve used is heat resistant and safe.
Thank you for your answers, it is much appreciated.
