Painting Doors but Paint Drying Before it's Finished?

by Twinpin2 » Fri Oct 26, 2018 3:45 pm

Trying to paint flat wooden doors paint seems to dry before there is time to cover the full door. Method I would try is to use oil based gloss and to thin it with turps then give several brushed coats to cover. Any comments on this method would be appreciated. What is best quality paint and brushes to use and does thining change the characteristics of the paint.too much. Thanks

First of all you didnt mention undercoating the door first.
Lightly rub doors down to form a key and using a 4 inch mini roller and tray and brush, roll the door starting from top to bottom in squares and lay off with a brush, allow to completely to dry and do exactly the same when glossing doors
