painting silver hardboard walls?

Post by haggisinlondon » Tue Jun 05, 2007 12:21 pm

Afternoon,

Having painted the lounge which was plastered brick walls I have stripped the hallway of the wallpaper that existed and found hollow chipboard type of walls? The walls look silver and smooth in style, do I need to use any primer on these before painting or am I okay to put down a few coats of the white paint I want to put on it?

Just not sure what the wall is, its not solid and previous owners had wallpaper.

thanks,
Haggis

No idea what surface you are dealing with Haggis, but when in doubt, as long as the surface is timber, use primer first. With primer on the paint will still work, without it its a gamble.
