I have recently been contacted by a large company ( many branches throughout the UK) who specialise in coloured roof coatings to tiled roofs that are "guaranteed" for 10yrs.
The process briefly is as follows:
1) Roofwash
2) Renovation-replacing damaged tiles,repointing etc.
3) Fungicide application
4) Application of 2 microporous coats
Is it worth doing, or is it a best a purely cosmetic process that will need reapplying after ten years say, if not before?
Any thoughts? Particularly from people who have had this work carried out themselves, would be most welcome. Many thanks
Get in touch with council for grant if roof that bad.
also mention the coating to them or building control see what they think
Locate a Specialist Directory and Problem Solved will get roofers in your area or outsitde it.
10yrs of course it will need re-doing but after the previous coat is removed if flaking or otherwise unsound, adds to cost.
Cost value per year cost divided by 10.
Repalirs in between with roof movement tile replacement is a pain and will cost extra as the roofer will have to cut the sealing coat.
Balls in your court but make sure you ARE dealing with a large company contact at random one of the oher way out branches.
