Please Help Identify this Wire / Component

by Edted2022 » Fri Apr 08, 2022 12:34 am

Hi,

I am fitting an electric blind into a roof light.

It’s quite straightforward but the wire coming from the ceiling doesn’t quite reach the motor unit on the blind.

I thought the simplest fix was a short length of wire to extend. There is currently a female to male connection so I think a short length of wire with male to female should do the trick.

It says 12v wire on the blind somewhere.

I’ve no idea what the connection is called and google hasn’t helped.

Any ideas?

The thing you have is designed to be used as your blind has, the plug on a pair of wires, and the socket mounted on a board, there is not an inline version of the socket made. (Not to mention they are fiddly, and you need a soldering iron to make a set)
Why not cut the plug off halfway down the cable length and install a new twin wire between the two ends you now have? Much easier. If you really want to waste time, they are made by molex

A thank you is always appreciated.
