Plumbing- surrey flange

by waterworking1 » Sun Apr 03, 2011 12:28 pm

Hello

I have purchased a surrey flange and need to ask a quetion before installation.
Question

The flange comes with a yellow plastic insert in the intake pipe. Do I remove this before installation or is it there for a purpose perhaps to stop air bubbles entering the intake?
Or is it there purely as protection when in the package?
No one so far has been able to answer this quesion. I look forqward to your thoughts.

Regards

Tony

waterworking1,
The yellow plug should have waterways around its sides and it's to stop air entering the tube - leave it in place.
end
