Possible Leaking Roof Causing Slow Drip Through Ceiling

by mikeycollins » Sun Oct 27, 2019 1:26 am

I discovered a slow drip from my ceiling this morning. It rained yesterday for about 8 hours, not particularly heavy and little to no wind. Am I right in thinking that the late appearance of the drip rules out the roof as a source of the drip?

My home used to be a shirt factory, so, planning permission required that the building mirrored it's original look, so, consequently, I have an iron girder sticking out just below roof level and I have a feeling that the water might be tracking along the girder and though a gap. Does that sound a reasonable conclusion?

Thanks

Michael
