PVA as dust sealer drying white

Postby Memaby » Sun Jan 09, 2022 4:04 pm

Hi, we have been working on doing up our garage to make it a nicer space. After reading lots of advice we decided to do a pva coat over the bricks as a dust sealant as they are quite old. Followed instructions and did a 5:1 ratio water / pva. It's now drying white and looks awful. My googling has suggested it's been too cold and this has caused the effect. Do you think there is still hope for it to dry clear or anything else we can do? Tried a hairdryer on a small patch as I saw this suggested somewhere but it just seemed to turn more white.

Thanks so much for any ideas!
