Radiator in new build property cannot be turned off?

by StuD1981 » Thu Oct 08, 2020 9:48 am

I bought a new build house two years ago. The radiator in the main bedroom does not have a dial or lever, so will always be on if the heating comes on. This means that even if we want the bathrooms to heat up (as we have tiled floors and it gets very cold in there) we have to have the radiator on in the main bedroom - it can't be turned off or down. Is this normal and can you tell me if anything can be done to amend this?

Hi stud1981,
No this is not normal.
Your best option is to fit thermostatic valves to the radiator.
