Raised Patio and Using Paving Support Pedestals

Hi

I'm about to install a raised patio, to bring the slabs up to a similar height to the interior floor.

Does anyone have experience of using paving support pedestals? Are they as easy to use as they claim?

I have an existing fairly flat patio, could I use this as a base?
