Remove and change louvre vent in bedroom

Post by gdonald20 » Tue Jun 12, 2007 6:25 am

Hi

I have two seperate problems hopefully one i can get an answer to on here.

I stay in an upstairs flat about 100 years old, there is a bird stuck in the wall cavity directly behind the louvre vent in my bedroom.

It's driving me nuts and obviously i don't want to whack a big hole in my old plaster walls. The bird appears to be stuck at the vent which is where my problem lies.

The vent doesn't appear to be screwed on to the wall, it appears to have been built into the wall.

Is there anyway for my to remove it without causing a great deal of damage, get the bird out and then just buy a new screwfixing louvre vent?

Thanks for any help.

Gillian
