Removing 2 chimney breasts in a house

Post by Jdeano1990 » Wed Feb 03, 2021 8:25 am

Hi I am looking to remove the two chimney breasts in a house I am in the middle of purchasing.

Downstairs there is a chimney breast in both living rooms. Then upstairs there is a chimney breast in each bedroom but also the two bedrooms angle off creating a triangle in middle of the adjoining wall (please see the floor plan)

Does anyone know what this triangle bit is and whether I would be able to take it out still.
I don't want to take tie external stack out so will just be supporting the stack in the attic.

Any help is much appreciated. Thanks

Hi jdeano1990
You need to consult a structural engineer especially since you will not be removing the upper part of the chimneys.
