removing a chipboard floor

Post by roy corden » Tue May 10, 2011 5:18 pm

I have a chipboard floor which creaks and groans. I want to remove it and replace it with tongue and groove floorboards. The problem is that someone has attempted to stop the creaking by putting in lots of screws. However, they have then filled all the screw heads so it is difficult to remove them. Is the only answer brute force?

roy corden,
A sharp implement like a bradawl should allow you to clean out the heads enough for a bit to fit.
