I am going to paint one bedroom external wall. The wall was last painted 9 years ago, there are about 4 little area's where the paint has peeled. The paint that is currently on the wall is matt and the paint I am going to put on is matt. The colours are virtually the same. The peeling has been there around 12 months but no more peeling has appeared.
My questions are -
1. Can I smooth the peeled paint with sandpaper?
2. When the peeled paint has been removed can I then just paint the wall with the matt paint or is it advised to paint the wall with primer first and if so is there a certain type of primer?
