Repairing Water Damaged to Swirl Textured Ceiling

Hello everybody! Unfortunately I've had a leak in the attic that has caused water damage to the ceiling of the bedroom below it. The plaster is bulging down and also has a crack through it. My concern is that the rest of the ceiling has a thick swirl textured paint. What is the best way to get a uniform finish? I'm not attached to the texture and will take the path of least resistance.

Scrape all the texture off before replastering the damaged area? Will the whole ceiling need a skim anyway after the scraping? What's the best way to flatten the texture?

Can just the corner be repaired and the swirl pattern replicated? What paint would I use for this? Will a uniform white coat of paint over everything at the end help disguise the difference in the corner?

Thank you so much for your help!
