Replace warm air heating with rad system?

by debsbrown » Sat Dec 04, 2010 4:51 pm

Hi all, I have just put in an offer for a 1970's 3 bed terrace that has an original warm air heating system. The house is a total wreck, so don't need to worry about working around decor, but I am not sure whether to replace with a new warm air system or change to conventional wet system with rads, anyone got good advice? I am planning on selling the property on rather than live there myself so don't want to spend an absolute fortune, just want something that works ok. Read somewhere that the filters are sometimes housed in asbestos casing, and removal can require a specialist, anyone know if this is true?. Ta Debs x

debsbrown,
Asbestos based board was the favourite material for the areas adjacent to the boiler. Which ever system you decide to instal it should be checked out by a specialist.
