Replacing gas fireplace with electric

by arorashipra79 » Wed Oct 17, 2007 4:53 pm

Hi, we recently removed the big hot water storage tank, old boiler and 80's ugly looking gas fireplace from our first floor flat we have purchased.
Now, we are left with this large whole in the wall, with air gushing through it. We managed to cover it temporarily, and have a nice electric fireplace which we now want to insert in that hole.
Coul someone suggest how to go about this??
We got the gas pipes removed from the floor when the fireplace was removed.

Hi,
you'll find if you measure hole size that there will be Electric fires that will fit in the openening, need a sparky to run a supply source (socket outlet) and you've cracked it!
Best of Luck
