Rewiring a new electric shower following live wire burn out

by Smithy1988 » Thu Feb 04, 2021 4:01 pm

While showering yesterday the shower unit began to smoke. After turning off the power and investigating I found the live wire had burnt out (I imagine due to a dodgey connection).

If I buy a new unit will I be able to strip back the burnt wire and reuse the 'good' wire further along?

Yes, I would also suggest you look at the pull cord switch you should have for the shower.
