Hi all,

I am replacing a plastic 1 gang 2 way switch with a metal faced dimmer.

I have got to a one where I have removed the plastic face to find 2 earth wires that are screws into a metal switch box. I assume this is to earth the box?

Obviously I need to earth the switch face, do I leave one in the box and put the other to earth the face or do they both go to the face?

Ideally you should run a new earth wire between the existing box earth terminal and the earth terminal on the new switch.

You could also move both earth wires to the earth terminal of the new switch.
