Seal Floor Before Concrete Boarding Kitchen Floor

by Grippyt » Tue Mar 17, 2020 1:12 am

Hi
I'm laying tiles on a floorboard kitchen floor and read I should lay concrete board first.
My question is should I fill the gaps between the floor boards prior?
its not damp but we do get slug trails sometimes in the kitchen.
I'm going to screw down the floor boards then clean them up and sand them.
Then prime the boards
After I'll lay tile adhesive under the concrete board and screw in position with concrete screws.
I'm worried that the concrete might get damp and warp
Thank in advance

Hi Grippyt,
If you are laying ceramic tiles then use a flexible adhesive incorporating a de-laminating matting. Ask at a tiling store for suitable products.
