Shower running cold and hot water tap in bath just trickling Drainage and wastage systems and plumbing help, advice and answers

The hot water tap running into the bath is running at a trickle and the shower does not seem to be working as it is just running cold. The shower is not electric and comes from the hot water system but it is cold even though the water from the bath tap is hot.
