Shower trouble

Post by cbelle » Sun Mar 01, 2009 11:02 am

We are using a Triton Jade II 8.5kw shower which is now knackered and have to replace. We have checked our fuseboard to see what amp it runs - it runs from a 45amp. Can anyone tell us please what kw we can go to for new shower? Was thinking we can go higher than 8.5kw since it runs from 45amp? Need confirmation if possible. Many thanks in advance. :D

cbelle,
I would recommend you get specialist advice regarding the size of the existing cable and RCD protection on the circuit. You should get an electrical certificate for this replacement, depending on whether it is a straight replacement or a circuit upgrade will determine the type of certificate needed.

Thanks for advice, I was also coming to that conclusion. Best to be safe.
