Shower water pressure has disappeared

by grimois » Mon Aug 17, 2009 2:15 pm

Hi,

We have a shower (non-electirc, bar type) that uses a gas water heater (that fires when hot tap is turend on). :(

Just lately when using the shower the pressure is good at first, but after about 4 minutes or so dissapears to a trickle. The temperature also fluctuates. This is not the case with other hot taps (sinks in bathrrom and kitchen).

What can the cause be? How expenisve may the fix be? Is there anything I can do myself?

grimois,
If you are in a hard water area and the valve is thermostatic it is probably scaled up. Best option is to replace the valve.
